Dr. Brian Lloyd began his career as an organic chemistry instructor which quickly became his passion. He strove to bring computers to the program and developed and maintained the mac computer lab which exists to this day. He helped students start the Science & Engineering Undergraduate Society, SEUS, being both advisor and more recently co-advisor. Dr. Lloyd developed both semesters of organic chemistry into an online format he referred to as a scribblecast, 2006. This was a "no frills" podcast presented in a white board format to provide the student with unrestricted mobile access to the lecture material. It has been used both inside and outside of class as a main component of both organic chemistry courses. When Covid lockdowns occurred, online lecture presentation incorporating the scribblecast videos were ready to go and broadcast live to the students in full lecture format. Staying ahead of the curve with educational technology has always been one of Dr. Lloyd's priorities, and he hopes to continue the teaching of organic chemistry for many years to come.
