In her classroom, students can expect to be engaged; she has many different teaching methods that keep students active and truly interacting with and practicing the content she is teaching. She also believes in character education; who you are is important for your future! Lorelei’s scholarly work has been focused on mathematics education, leadership, experiential learning and high-impact educational strategies. Educating pre-service teachers and creating truly meaningful and thorough learning experiences to prepare them for teaching is paramount to her. She has various publications and has presented at numerous conferences including the Paris Conference on Education, World Federation of Associations for Teacher Education (WFATE), Canadian Society for the Study of Education (CSSE), Math Specialist Council of the ATA (MCATA), Postsecondary Learning and Teaching (University of Calgary) and Kappa Delta Pi International Research Conference on the topics of mathematics teaching and pre-service teacher training. She is also the editor of the Alberta Teachers’ Association Mathematics Specialist Council peer-reviewed journal, delta-K. When Lorelei isn’t teaching you may find her mountain biking, canyoneering in Utah, exploring archaeology or camping in the mountains. She loves cooking and is also the co-author of the best-selling book series, The Big Cook and The Big Cook 2 cookbooks.
