Principles of Geoscience
This course explores Earth's composition, surface and internal processes, tectonics, rocks, minerals, mapping techniques, and the interconnectedness of human and physical geography. Emphasizing sustainability, students engage in lab exercises and case studies exploring major rock types, the rock cycle, the hydrological cycle, plate tectonics, geological site characterization, and mapping technologies while analyzing topics such as urban heat islands, soil quality, and mineral production. Through these studies, students investigate their impact on societies and environments, developing solutions for sustainable practices in resource utilization and land management.
