Conflict Management and Crisis Intervention in the Helping Professions

Helping professionals often need to respond to individuals in crisis and de-escalate situations. This course presents conflict resolution models and the application of conflict resolution techniques and de-escalation strategies. Students will participate in role play labs and authentic scenarios with the purpose of practicing and developing advanced communication skills to effectively navigate difficult conversations. 

  • Prerequisite: IDST 100
  • Hours: 42 hrs (2-1)
