Jennifer Holowachuk, Instructor
Education & Credentials:
- Mississippi State University - Masters of Science
- Mississippi State University - Bachelors of Science
Began teaching at MHC: 2007
Jennifer has taught numerous courses and laboratories in biology, zoology, human anatomy and physiology, which require her to adapt and incorporate several learning techniques for these diverse topics.
Jennifer is passionate about helping students engage in their learning, which has led her to collaborate with colleagues by employing various methods to help students learn gross anatomy in abbreviated time frames. She continually seeks novel and emerging instructional strategies and technologies to enhance her students' understanding of human anatomy, so that they can be successful in their journeys and careers.
Whether in the classroom or laboratory, students can expect Jennifer to work with them on building a foundational understanding of human anatomy and physiology. Students will use blended techniques, including: human anatomical models, computerized models and histological materials. Dissections are another learning tool which brings hands-on experience with a sense of fun and adventure into the laboratory. Providing students the opportunity to dissect an organ allows for them to learn patience and gross anatomy in a different format.
When not in a lecture room or laboratory, Jennifer can be found spending time with her family. She stays busy with many activities including: paddle-boarding, cycling, skating, or cheering on her kids in hockey or dance.
